Welcome to All Saints’ Episcopal Day School Online
In the spring of 2020, our children experienced their classes in new ways. The classrooms and playground at All Saints’ Episcopal Day School were temporarily closed, and our classes were held online. It continued to be deeply important to our teachers that they sustain their relationships with their young students and make meaningful connections with them. The teaching and learning continued, but in a less traditional way for preschoolers. We are happy to be open again and back to in-person learning. We know that hands on experiences and a play based curriculum are best for students, but we are also proud of how quickly our teachers were able to pivot to provide virtual learning when it was necessary.

All Saints’ Families,
The “Jesus Storybook Bible” by Sally Lloyd Jones teaches us that God loves us with a “never stopping, never giving up, always and forever love,” and I’ve never felt a more pressing time to rely on that truth than this season of our lives. It is a precious and joyful privilege to teach your children about God’s unfailing love and one that I don’t take lightly. My prayer during this time is that through Christ Jesus, the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding will guard the hearts and minds of your children, and your own hearts and minds as well. I hope these familiar Bible stories will comfort your children and remind them that though things may start out sad, they won’t stay that way, because when Jesus came, He came to make all things new, to fix the broken, heal the sick, and conquer sin and even death. Until you can “come and go with me to our Father’s house,” please know that I’m here, praying and trying my best to tell these stories and help them grow deep in your children’s hearts.

Hello Families,
This time of quarantine is new for all of us. We are all leaning how best to handle our time at home. You might be enjoying the downtime, or you might be struggling to entertain your kiddos. Everyone is experiencing this in a different way. In the coming days ahead, please let me know how I can help. I’m open to ideas! I’ve attached our schedule just so you can see our outline of our days. I’ve also included some fun video links that are class favorites. Your child will know what to do- and will likely enjoy teaching their siblings! Please enjoy the class links to our Youtube page, instagram and watch for small group Zoom sessions! The Weekly Home Plans will offer a theme for each week and keep us all connected.
I look forward to hearing and seeing all of you!
Brenna

Hi Blue Room parents,
I hope everyone is finding a good rhythm with this strange situation we are in. I’m sad that we have to continue school remotely for the time being because I miss all of your sweet children!
I met on FaceTime yesterday with Mrs. LaPorte and the other teachers to come up with a plan for these next few weeks. We will each be sending out videos and resources by class as are age appropriate. For our class, I will be taking short videos of book read-alouds and songs along with a PDF newsletter or “lesson plan” that you may use if you find yourself searching for more activities to complete with your child.
The teachers and I want to make sure you know that we are not expecting you to do and complete all the things we would in a normal school day. We are not expecting you to complete any of the “lesson plans” that we send out. They are purely to give you ideas of activities to fill your child’s day and to keep them connected to their school.
I am working on filming videos and gathering resources and will send out more information as soon as I get it together.
Please note that I have created a new email address that I will be using to share documents and videos (we are all adjusting to the technical difficulties of working from home!) The new email address is asedsblueroom@gmail.com. Thank you for working with me as we all navigate this new normal.
If you have any questions for me, please reach out. I’m here to help in any way that I can.
Please give your child a big hug from Miss Bess and let them know that I miss them dearly!

Dear Families,
I hope that you are all doing well. Please let your children know that their All Saints’ school family is thinking about them, missing them, and wishing them well. All of us are doing an important job of keeping each other safe by staying with our home families now, but we will be so excited and happy when we can be back together again.
The first thing that I want you to know is that home learning should go at your own pace. I’m attaching some notes Brenna took about how stress may show up for children right now. From all the early childhood experts that I have been reading, it is much more important for you to spend time with your children, connect with them and give them a strong sense of love and safety than to provide them with academics. Make learning fun and back off and do something different if you or your child find it stressful.
Please let me know if you have questions or concerns.
Suggested home learning activities can be found in our weekly newsletter. We will have Zoom meetings as a class on Tuesdays at 10:00 am, and small groups will be on Thursdays at 10:00 and 11:00 am. Please take a look at our class Youtube playlist as well.
Wishing you well,
Gigi

Orange Room Parents,
Years ago, while reading a beloved Winnie the Pooh story, I came across a quote that said “if there ever comes a day when we can’t be together, keep me in your heart, I’ll stay there forever.” I think I’ve always loved AA Milne not just for his sense of childlike whimsy, but because of his bittersweet portrayal of the depth of a child’s heart. I am so grateful that even though our daily routine has changed drastically, you allow me into your living rooms every single day of the week so the relationships that began in our bright little orange room, can continue to bloom even from afar. My hope and prayer during this time is that these little heads, hearts, and hands will continue to learn, grow, love, and flourish during such a time as this and that God would hold them each in His hands until we meet again.
